Reviews for Bestop Supertop NX Twill Soft Top for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door
I love this top. Installation was a breeze. I suggest watching Bestop’s installation video. It is much better than the included instructions. Also, definitely install in sunny warm weather. The warmer the better. It was about 70° and sunny when I installed mine. Everything is good so far. No leaks, ease of use keeps getting easier as the fabric stretches. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because the windows are still extremely tight and do not line up 100% with the door surrounds. Everyone says this is common and to wait for the fabric to fully stretch out and it will fit. I would buy this again.
This top is very nice! There is no arguing the twill material look amazing compared to the sailcloth. I had some stitching issues with 2 tops, but the 3rd appears to be good. Quadratec was awesome about taking care of this! They replaced the top BOTH times without hesitation, and quickly shipped the replacement. I want to believe I just had a case of bad luck, and its not an indicator of quality with the top. Like I said, the top is extremely nice!
Quality of materials is good but passenger side window never fit correctly. Best top sent me a new window and it was worse. They said it would stretch, never did even after 2 years. Its a battle to keep top of passenger side window in so just dealing with it.
1. Best to use 2 people.
2. Just like a lot of people have mentioned in previous reviews, the fit is extremely tight and I'm hoping it will loosen up as it gets worn in.
3. With the top being so tight I was not able to put the side windows all the way into the door frame and still be able to zip the window shut so I'm hoping it doesn't rain otherwise there's going to be a lot of water getting down in that channel.
4. Even trying to zip the side windows and the back windows the poorly made zipper and strings attached to it have broken.
5. Great material and window tint.
6. I will update more once I flip the sunrunner back and take the top down and save as any more difficult in putting everything back in place. For now I'm just leaving it baking in the sun in hopes that it will stretch.
Top looks very nice - classy, but it was a very miserable install. Would I buy this again? Maybe/likely?? For those looking at this top, highly consider locating a Bestop dealer and have them install it for you(you'll live a longer and more fruitful life). Although the instructions state four hours to install, it took me 9 hours(and yes, I'm mechanically inclined...). Holes didn't match up with the screws, and some screws that were preinstalled had stripped out heads and needed to be replaced(Bestop cust service sent out replacement screws - lost two days waiting for the hardware to arrive). The top was super tight, which made it nearly impossible to zipper the windows into place... Called customer service about this and they were adamant that it must be installed in 70º+ weather. I live in WI, so good luck getting those temps for more than 3 days a year. I installed the top in my warehouse where the temps were 70º; made zero difference.
Once I got the top installed, the rear drivers side window would not seat in the door frame(zipper was sewn in the wrong place). After some emails back and forth with customer service, with plenty of pictures, they finally sent me a replacement window, and that fit fine. However, it took two weeks for the replacement to arrive, which I wasn't happy about. Guess they were out of stock(so they say - [insert eyeroll....]).
I eventually found a good tech support person(Marc), but did deal with several others, and most of the other CSR's were less than pleasant - almost annoyed they had to deal with me.
I have not driven my Jeep much since the top has been installed, which is going on 20 days. If it's possible for a followup review in a few months, I will attempt to do so.
About five years old now. the fabric hasn't faded, stretched, or broken down at all. the windows are also still in good condition.
The doors don't seal well(it's impossible to get the top six or so inches to engage) and there isn't enough window fabric to get the zippers all the way down without hanging off the zipper. but besides that, it's waterproof.
the only component that broke are the clips for the fold back sunroof(a feature I don't use). one of the clips lost its spring and needs to be manually inserted.
overall it's an ok top for a warmer drier climate but the price isn't justified for all the issues this has.
Very disappointed in this top. Was told Bestop is the same as original MOPAR tops. I wish I had paid the difference and went with MOPAR.
Hi. There are two issues with the product. I bought this soft top for $1800. and the windows do not fit correctly, each side basically sits open at the top and doesnt fit snug at all. Very drafty in the winter and even starts opening while riging on the highway. I am trying to upload pictures but this website is not letting me. The second issue is ever since I installed the top, I now have a leak on the passenger side front window whenever it rains. I am not happy with this purchase. For the amount of money I spent I would expect a better result.
I really REALLY wanted to like this top, but it has been a non-stop nightmare since day one. As others have reported, it doesn't fit right, the windows are a b**ch, the hardware buckles, the front passenger latch broke the second time we put the top back up - and we had it professionally installed by Bestop's rep!! I have been waiting for a month for them to send me a replacement. No luck yet. "It's on the way" . . . maybe I'll get it by next summer? So sad and frustrating.
The windows don’t fit and the main fabric doesn’t seal around the front. Everything on this top top is too small to fit. Every piece of fabric fits so poorly, the zippers will break with in a month. On this top if you wrap the front of the side windows as you’re supposed to, you literally can’t get the two parts of the zipper together to zip it shut. If you put the zipper together, you can’t wrap the front properly and there is a gap where water will get in. You can stick your finger through it. At the back end, the zippers won’t zip all the way because there is literally not enough fabric for the two sides of the zipper to get together. The fabric of the window is 2 to 3 inches too short to reach the zipper on the corner. I’ve bought Bestops before and never had a problem. This top isn’t worth 1 star.
