Certainly a more solid piece but I still experienced tailgate rattle from my 35in tire. I’d recommend getting the combo pack with the tailgate hinge and do it all at once.

I went with this spare tire mount after switching to aftermarket wheels that moved the tire too far from the oem mount. Install is very easy and since I already had the Alpha carrier it perfectly compliments the Jeep. This is a great design and should work for years to come and allow me to move to 37s if I ever decide to.

I love it but I had to adjust the tire a few times since I installed it about a year ago. Watching the Teraflex videos on youtube and other peoples instal videos made it easier to instal. I dont worry about my tailgate at all since this is built very sturdy.

Easy to install. I’ve got 33” tires, so it’s not the heaviest tire available but it’ll hold the big ones too. Looks better than the OEM hinges. I put the lugs in the top holes so it would clear my bumper but it’s in and out adjustable if needed.

Good product, easy install. Instillation looks really nice.

Install was pretty straight forward. It only took about 1 hour to install including modifying the factory third brake light to be run outside the spare. My only issue (which isn't really an issue) is that it doesn't come with some sort of plug for the holes left by the factory spare bumpers that need to be removed from the tailgate. Would be a 5 star product in my opinion if they added those (simple little thing). Much more solid of a mount than what I was running.

Before you buy double check width of your tire upgrade. I have a 35 in with a 12.5 width and a 18-inch rim which unless I am doing something wrong will not fit this mount

Cracked at the base of the tire carrier after seven years of use.

Despite the description, this product can not carry a 35" tire on stock hinges. Immediately after placing my 35 on this carrier, a loud rattling came from the back tailgate and requires additional reinforcement. If you are looking for a cheap solution to carry a 35, do not buy this.
