Reviews for Mishimoto MMRAD-WRA-87 Aluminum Radiator for 87-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ & TJ Unlimited with 2.5/4.0L
Agree with what other 1 star reviews are saying and would suggest staying away from this radiator. I bought the original from Quadratec in 2016 and it started leaking 3 years later. Contacted Mishimoto and they sent a replacement with no hassles in 2019. It's now 2023 and my radiator is leaking again. Contacted customer service and they offered to send me sealant or ship me a new radiator (I have to pay for shipping). I'll probably replace the radiator one more time and then look to move to a new brand. As others have said, the warranty is great and there are no hassle with customer service but do you really want to replace your radiator every few years. Also, the mounting hardware is not an exact fit with original. I have a 2001 TJ for those that are wondering.
Great customer service from Mishimoto in that I had 3 of these fail in 3yrs and they promptly sent a replacement each time, that's 1 star. The most recent installed in Dec 2020 and failed February 2021. All of them sprung leaks from poor welds along top and bottom reservoirs and each time the Lifetime Warranty was honored with zero hassle. But, that is 3 fails and a generous amount patience. Do not put this in your Jeep, you will be replacing it again, and again, and again. No stars for craftsmanship.
What an absolute piece of junk. It looks good at first, but the cap size is smaller than stock so my old Lev-r cap wouldn't work. I haven't had this radiator a year yet, and it started leaking from the seams. And to top it off, the drain plug leaks too, but its made of aluminum, so I'm afraid to tighten it any further. Stay away, this is far from a quality product. It's garbage that's sure to leave you stranded at the worst time
First one I bought started leaking within 6 months. Quadratec was super helpful and sent another one and that one started leaking within a week. No fault of the website but these radiators are garbage.
Purchased this radiator 3 years ago and I'm currently on my FOURTH! Warranty replacement. All three radiators started leaking from the core within six months of installation. I was told body flex could be causing an issue so on the second radiator installation I was extremely careful to isolate the radiator from the body flex via rubber isolation mounts. This made no difference. Do not purchase this radiator for a jeep wrangler TJ.
The radiator started leaking after 3 years and 15k miles. I was expecting better quality. The original radiator on my Jeep lasted 17 years and 105k miles.
Bought this radiator thinking it would be great but it didnt last 6 months before it started leaking from the core. Quadratec sent me a brand new one the day i called them so awesome customer service on quadratecs part. The second mishimoto radiator i got hasn't even been in mt TJ for a week and it is already leaking from the core...I would not buy this product if i were you.
I ordered this to replace a stock radiator in the wife's jeep that was leaking and thought it would be nice to hook her up with a nice shiny top quality Mishimoto radiator.
Jokes on me..first one leaked at the bottom fins so Mishimoto sent me a replacement. 3 weeks after install the same exact thing leaking from the bottom fins. After two in a row I decided to go with a refund and get a Crown OE replacement. Like in another review I also had to remove the hood prop and also had the same issues with threading of the longer bolts they provide were incorrect forcing you to use your old bolts and removing the washers. Looks like Griffin or Crown is the way to go. I will not ever waste money on a Mishimoto product ever again.
SUCKS can't find leak but it is leaking 2 mechanics could not find leak either
