Reviews for Old Man Emu OMESD48 Steering Stabilizer with Relocation Bracket for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with LHD
Quality
Works well
This is my 2nd one. I got about 100,000 miles out of the first one.
Replaced the original on a 2012 Rubicon 2 door with OME 2" lift and 285 70R 17 tires on Quadratrac Recon wheels (1" wider w/5.2" back spacing). I don't have the wandering down the highway like I used to, drives much better than before.
Simple install. You don't need the bracket unless you plan on relocating the stabilizer.
2015 Wrangler Unlimited, 3 inch lift, 35 inch tires.
Worth every penny, replaced the original stock stabilizer with the OME. Noticed a huge difference, tightened everything up nicely. You do not need the new bracket that comes with it, it bolts right up to the original stock brackets. Takes about thirty minutes if your anal about yourJeep like I am. Nice heavy duty steering stabilizer, I'm very pleased with this purchase.
I installed this unit on Saturday; the instructions were in black and white as an earlier user stated, so the pictures provided were almost useless, making the install very difficult.
The holes in the relocation bracket were a bit small for the bolts, but this was only due to the powder-coating, so threading the bolts through by hand before install took care of that issue.
My Jeep feels more secure now; I had crushed my OEM stabilizer at an off-road event in June.
My only wish is that the OME stabilizer had come bearing the sticker that's shown in all the pictures; mine is just plain 'ol yellow!
Works very well instructions were alright overall Im happy with it
Easy install
1) YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE or BUY THE RELOCATION BRACKET, you can use the stock location, it’s in the directions provided, and can be mounted in the stock location (found that out after I started installing it).
2) The kit is very easy to install, just takes longer then I expected. One hole does need to be enlarged, but mainly do to the fact Jeep did not make the hole round, its oblong. Took 6 seconds to do.
3) I have no idea why Michael E was so upset. Directions were easy to understand, just make sure to have both sets of instructions if you bought the bracket (one in bracket bag, one in stabilizer box). The one in the box is key, it tells both ways to install the stabilizer (in stock location or with relocation bracket).
Definitely better then stock, I have a lift and 34.5” tires and definitely made a difference in ride quality. I hope this helps.
