Reviews for Ten Factory Front Axle Tube Seals for 84-18 Jeep Vehicles with 30 Spline Dana 30/44 Front Axle
Looks and works great
On my Dana 30, They are Awesome. Grease fitting is perfect if installed facing the rear. They only hold so much grease. so if you over fill them grease will come out. Best tube seal by far.
It was an easy install. I needed new inner axle seals so I had to take my axle apart. when taking it apart I realized how much mud and gunk got into the tubs. so I spent a few hours cleaning my axle housing and painted the inside of my tubes. I installed the outer seals very easily but removing them is difficult. be sure to orient the grease fitting in an accessible spot.
Installed these while doing ball joints on my '97 TJ... I put a little bead of black RTV around the outside of the tubes about halfway up, before installing them... It also helps to about a 16 inch piece of 1x1 wood with a hammer to LIGHTLY tap them into the axle housing. Also, I faced the grease fittings towards the rear of the Jeep so they don't collect as much dirt and mud. EASY to install, just time consuming.
Why doesn't jeep have a product like this stock. If you go offroading you definitely need a set of these to keep mud out your front axle.
These are great axle seals & much better than the oem slinger style shields offered through Jeep. They are a little difficult to install unless you have a socket or large round wood dowel to drive these into place. Once they are driven in I would say you will have to destroy them to get them back out as they are a snug fit into axle tube. Installed in a 2013 Sahara unlimited.

Installation was easy, my did come with a broken c-clip which I had to replace. I recently went on a Jeep Jamboree with plenty of river crossings and mud without any issues.
I watched a YouTube video and installed the ones I ordered. I cleaned the surface rust out of the axle. I then put black silicone sealant over the rubber on the inside of the shaft. They slid in most of the way. I used a small log from the fire wood pile to drive them in the rest of the way. I lubed up the axle shafts with Lucas red grease and slowly pushed the new ten factory chromoly axles in twisting the axles as I pushed them in. The passenger front axle was the hardest to do. The grease zerk on the drivers side is too close to the outer axle shaft so I'm going to have to replace it with an angled one. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars. Not sure how long they will last.
Work as intended. could use a 45degree grease fitting for easier greasing when inserted in tube completely the fitting is right against the inner c and not greasable w/o a grease needle
