Reviews for Quadratec Replacement Center Console Subwoofer for 01-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
For a 6.5", it thumps pretty good. Using 1200W, 5 channel Kenwood amp to push it. Top off, interstate speed with tractor trailers beside me, I can hear it. A little pricey, but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Fit perfect, sounds good, and installed with no modifications.
Sounds great for what it is. Installation was very quick and straight forward, absolutely an exact fit!
10 year old speaker needed to be replaced and the Quadratec speaker fit perfectly. The sound quality is great and really pushes out the bass.
great sound. great service
Great product. Fit as needed.
Excellent Replacement
Fits perfect. Sounds great. Easy install. Would recommend to anyone.
My OEM speaker completely deteriorated and left me listening to music that only had highs and mid range with absolutely no lows. I've had my eye on this for quite a while before purchasing and I was not let down. What I liked about it was that it was a direct replacement for the OEM speaker. I wasn't looking for an outrageous sound system, I just wanted to listen to my radio without any distortion using an inexpensive aftermarket stereo. This fit the bill perfectly, sounds better than OEM and can handle the output from my aftermarket radio unit. I'd purchase this again in a heartbeat, but judging from the build quality, I won't have to.
Awesome product, works as good or better than the factory original! Was really nervous about this product after reading reviews of this product on various forums. Don't pay any mind to 'em, most of those folks must be doing something wrong that would have blown out the factory speaker as well. I installed mine and can't tell the difference in it and the factory speaker. But there is a difference, the cone has a much tougher rubberized coating where it attaches to the speaker frame. Only discernible difference is the factory speaker has an attached screen. The screen is not needed, it only keep dirt from being blasted back out of the cone. If you want the screen, pull it off the original and glue it onto the replacement.
The instructions could be a little better, you may want to Google for some supplementary instructions, but note, even those miss a view things too. Biggest issue is getting the push nuts on and off. Would have been nice if Quadratec included two extra push nuts instead of some screws you don't need. Here's the deal, it's really hard to get those push nuts off without destroying 'em and, frankly, it ain't worth the time to do so, just measure them and go get some extras before you start and then cut them off. There is also a trick to putting them on. They slip right on but you have to use a socket to push them on with that is just right, not to wide and not too tight. The instructions need to specify that sock size.
Excellent value for the money. As best I can tell, all other speakers require modification to fit and are the wrong impedance, meaning you have to also purchase and find a place to mount a pre-amp.
