Reviews for Quadratec Replacement Center Console Subwoofer for 01-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
In my 2004 TJ Rubicon, I blew this OEM speaker several years ago and it's sounded horrible ever since. I recall the stealership wanting crazy $$$ to replace it. This kit made it affordable and easy to replace. All-in-all, it took about one hour to remove everything and replace the speaker. Super easy, everything fit perfectly and it sounds GREAT!! So happy to finally have some bass in the Jeep again!! I highly recommend it! While at it, I upgraded the front and soundbar speakers as well.
Easy enough install. Well worth the price to get better sound. Would recommend to someone just looking to do an inexpensive replacement.
awesome replacement sub woofer. so easy to replace. I don't think it's pricey, not to have great sounding music again.
Old speaker was shot in my 2005 TJ (not much was left of it!)... the new one fit perfect and the BASS is back! Why didn't I do this sooner??? I'm glad that I purchased this OEM replacement. Pretty easy to replace, but I did need some torx head screwdrivers, a ratchet set (10mm if I remember correctly), and a Phillips screwdriver. Instructions were easy to follow. Anyone with tools and some patience can do it. The hardest part was removing the keyed wiring harness connector with a tie wrap in a poor location, everything else was a piece of cake! You can't go wrong with this speaker from Quadratec!
Pricey! Took me awhile to fork out the bucks. I could spend $90 bucks on something else. I’m a mechanical guy so a radio is a luxury. Glad I did. Sound is great. Old speaker blown big time. Installing straight forward. Quadratec did a good job writing them out. Photos and all! I can understand the price because it is an odd ball size. Would I do it again, Yes I would!!
Awesome sound quality, the thump has returned to my '06 Jeep TJ. I replaced the dash and sound bar speakers with Kicker 5.25 both with surrounds to improve sound depth too. Very easy removal and install, my wife & I did it all in 2 1/2 hours with no swearing! Highly recommend quick fix to restore the sound from our original radio, cd player.
Installation was straightforward and took about an hour. I found the one page directions that were provided to be sufficient. Some reviewers complained of the subwoofer no longer working after a few weeks/months. I wonder if this was due to the wire connectors coming loose. The directions suggest crimping the wire connectors on to secure them properly. I found that they were very loose before being crimped and definitely needing crimping to stay on.
Initial testing sounds positive. I hope it as long as the factory woofer did ( I got 11 years out of it).
Easy plug and play install. Cant believe I went years with the old sub not working! Sounds incredible.
Instructions were a little whack, but over all very happy with a little more sound from the old girl. (Way better than a blown speaker) And while install went fairly smooth, it defiantly helped that I found a video on “noobtube” to confirm my doubts. And now I have a working subwoofer, if you’d call this little dual voice coil speaker a subwoofer.
Perfect fit and sound great
