Reviews for AEV NTH24220AB Rear Slider for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with Dana 44
Very easy installation and fantastic quality ! Worh the money
Installed in driveway using a bottle jack for fitting and support while bolting it in place.
Very easy install. Fits Perfect. Greetings from Germany
Bolts on in 15 mins. Well built and gives you peace of mind if you hit the diff on a rock.
Quality piece, definitely provides some solid protection to the rear diff.
This is a really heavy duty slider to protect the rear drive shaft/differential joint. The only issue I had, was the front u-bolt did not fit over the nose of my Dana 44. I could only get one side of it secured. The u-bolt looks and feels heavy duty enough to stay put so I'm not that worried about it. I got in touch with AEV tech, but they didn't have a solution. I'm still happy with the slider and I figure if it looks like it moves after off roading, I'll just jury rig something to hold it better.
Saved me at MOAB
Fit was great. I installed myself on floor with no lift of vehicle. Hydraulic jack to lift and hold it into place was vital to success. Hardest part of install was getting washers onto front u bolt due to tight access holes. You also need to alternate and tighten nuts evenly to prevent u bolt from cocking to side and preventing socket from getting over nut. A deep socket will be needed. Also access on passenger side axle will be somewhat restricted by fuel tank. I'm happy that you lose very little clearance, maybe a quarter inch or less. What pictures don't show is the upper side of slider and the steel that cradles your housing to ensure hits are spread out through housing to lessen impacts. It looks like it will be very tight to change differential oil with this installed as another reviewer has mentioned. Product is very good but not perfect
Easy install and good clearance... it's fits snugly into place. Good quality and thick steel.
Great fit and heft. Unfortunately it has to be removed to change oil in the diff. The holes do not align - you can unscrew the plug but it will be stuck behind the skid. Too bad.
