Reviews for Teraflex 1513001 TERA 9550 VSS Steering Stabilizer for 97-18 Jeep Wrangler TJ & JK
Have one on my jeep now. But it got taken out and need replaced!
I hope this is a 4. Haven't received but read the reviews
I have a 2000 Wrangler TJ. The stabilizer is a great upgrade to the worn out smaller stabilizer. The only problem I had was on the head end of the stabilizer the mounting shoulder bolt was too large to fit through the existing bracket holes. You need to drill the bracket holes larger or use one of the supplied sleeves and a smaller bolt...the same size that was removed from the old mounting which is what I did.
Chucked that crappy old Jeep steering stabilizing shock after smacking enough potholes on I-95 around Philly, that was a much gooder upgrade than before. Still going strong after 5 years.
Had for about year, no issues yet.
Easy Intall.
Purchased this as I was getting a right pull in my jeep and getting bump steer when hitting grooves or potholes in the road. It is definitely a bit beefier than stock. It is a bit shorter than the stock one and I did have to adjust the location of the pinch bracket on my '14 a bit so the stabilizer didn't act as the stop and cause damage. I have about 1/8" to spare before extend/compressed. I put the front of my Jeep on jack stands so I could manually turn my wheels lock to lock and prevent damage. Overall my steering feels a lot tighter and does not want to pull as much. Kind of wish I went for an gas filled one to push me back to the left, but I'm hoping I can get this fixed when I do my lift and alignment. This stabilizer is not a drastic improvement but still a lot better than my leaky stock one. We will see how it holds up
Seems strong even after dents
Great replacement when I lifted my jeep
For the money, you can't beat this steering stabilizer. It smoothed a lot of steering feed-back for me, and the install was super easy.
