Reviews for Corbeau Moab Reclining Front Seat Pair for 76-18 Jeep CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler, Wrangler YJ, TJ, JK & Unlimited
Good fit - Be aware that a seat bracket is required for installation. They feel good, look good and are easy to maintain. I've had them in this TJ now for a couple of months and am happy with the purchase.
i replaced factory JK seats with these seats. the hardest part to exchanging seats was removal of seat belt device attached to original seat. So far so good. the seats do require railings.
factory railings are a big issue.
1) the seats sit about 2 inches lower than original factory ride height. this meant having to adjust to driving again. it does reduce view off the front hood, making difficult assessment on whats in front of bumper on ground.
2) factory passenger railing has a second lever to slide seat forward to accommodate entry and exit to rear seat. most important on two door JK. This second lever is absent, and all you have is moving seat forward as far as rail allows, but not enough for even an adolescent to jump in the back, and nearly impossible for average size adult.
The seats were installed in a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. Hey guys I like my Corbeau seats, they look nice. It will take a little while to get used of them, its a lot harder than my existing seats. I just wanted to give you a heads-up on a little problem I had. I bought the adapter plates (1120NS & 1121NS) to mount to my existing seat frames. The holes that attach to adapter to the existing seat frame were off approximately 3/32" on the forward and aft holes, the left & right holes were good. I had to elongate the holes to make it work. I had the same problem on both passenger and driver seat.
Just got my Moab seats today. Easy install, took less than an hour to install both seats. Most aftermarket parts need some sort of work to get a good fit, but these just bolted in on my 91 YJ.
Only "complaint", as other reviews have said, they sit higher than stock, but I would say minimal compared to the atock seat when new. Yes, these raised my seat height by about 3 inches, but my factory foam was gone. These seats also sit a bit more forward than factory. If you are 6 feet tall or more, modify your seat frame or purchase sgort frames.
Overall, I like the seats so far, makes the harsher ride of a yj a bit more comfy.
Quality made but not comfortable at all, looking to replace mine already.
Purchased these seats to replace the originals. Good quality for the money. However, when directly bolted onto the original risers the seat leans back pretty far to the point it is uncomfortable. It also sits higher than originals making it difficult to get your legs under the steering wheel. I ended up ordering new parts from Corbeau to replace the risers. This made the seat sit up straight the way it was designed. This also changed how we access the back, the seat slides forward and leans forward instead of lifting up and forward. This also allowed extra space between the seat and steering wheel.
Quite a bit taller than originals. So looking for new hardware. Otherwise really nice seats.
Seats do bolt directly in. Multiple mounting holes. Installation is easy.Seats do sit approximately 2" higher then stock. I have a tilt steering wheel so it's not to big of a deal. The back of the seat is a little on the narrow side. Wish the back would come forward more. The first notch for reclining is a little to far back for my wife's short legs. All and all seats are ok.
Grey Vinyl is not what is pictured, it's not even close. Its actually more brown than grey - don't tell me my monitor is off either, I'm sitting in front of film quality, color accurate displays, and I now have beige seats in my jeep, with a grey rear seat. I'm not happy. They're comfortable though, yay.
First off I read all the reviews and realized not to get the adapters, right off the get go I bought the ground up pedestals. Still these seats feel like they are leaning too far back. They also feel very tall. I am tempted to add some washers under the rear supports, although I wonder if I am going to sacrifice safety if I do that. The seats are very nice to look at, the fit and finish is top notch. The comfort however is horrible. They feel like I am sitting on a 2x4. I am not at all pleased with them. and to tell the truth I am thinking about sending them back. I am guessing that would be on my dime and probably pretty pricey
