Reviews for Quadratec Spare Tire Relocation Kit for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL
Works great, as advertised, and took less than 30 minutes to install. The only thing I wish it had was rubber gaskets for the metal contact with the paint, but a much better option than spending $$$ on a new bumper and tire carrier. My tires are 315/70/R17 and fit just fine.
Compatible with Mopar fittings
I installed this in 30 mins. It allowed me to raise my BFG 37" KO2 spare off the bumper. This is a solid steel plate that is not going anywhere. Torque settings are in the instructions. The factory brake light bracket can be raised up to accomodate the raised tire as well.
It did work with the Mopar reinforcement bracket although I had to determine the fitment of the two on my own. I haven't had the new tires mounted to see how it works out. My concern is there isn't going to be enough room for the brake light to be visible on the stock light mount. I don't want to have to purchase another fix when modification to the existing bracket might work.
I really like this relocation kit. Took me about 30 minutes to install and works great with my Mopar tailgate reinforcement. I would highly recommend.
I switched out the stock 33" tires on my Rubicon for 35's/ 12.5" wide. I hadn't received the relocation bracket yet, and I tried out the fit on the original just to see. The spare tire fits just fine on the original carrier. I did raise the brake light about an inch for better clearance. So I am sending the new bracket back to Quadratec in the unopened box. This looks like a quality bracket and it I went with 37's it would be a great solution.
Product works well however the metal mounting brackets bolt directly to the tailgate with no gasket to prevent corrosion or scratch protection. I purchased my own rubber gasket material and cut them to match the shape of the four mounting brackets.
