Reviews for Rival 4x4 2A.ST.2703.1 Hood Lift Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with Factory Hood
Quality
Great investment
I'm short, so I always have trouble lifting the hood high enough to engage the prop rod. This will make my tasks much easier.
Easy to install.
Jeep should have used these hood lift struts a long time ago.
Installed on a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary. Much easier install than expected. Instructions have minimal text (a bit more text would help); however, instruction estimated a 30 min install time and it took me 31 min. I could have done it faster if I had initially looked at the instructions and grabbed the correct wrenches and dropped a fastener when I removed it (which took a few minutes to find). The most difficult part was putting in the plates in the slots at the top of the hood as one plate was just a tiny bit to wide to fit through the hole (I did NOT have to make the hold bigger but just had to press and twist the plate more than expected). There was no wind and one strut help up the hood while I installed the strut on the passenger side. The struts do not raise the hood but lift it enough so it is much easier to release the safety latch.
Easier for me to open the hood
User ratings and ease of installation
Very easy install and they work great.
Instructions were actually pretty good. 20 minutes to install. Tricky part was you have to lower it "slightly" lower than the factory prop rod holds it to do the final install...but once you have one it holds the hood until you snap in the other one. Works as advertised.
