Reviews for Carnivore Tube Doors for 18-24 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Doors look great. A little rattle in the front doors that I can't seem to adjust, but not too bad. Quadratec label is on the outside of rear doors despite information stating the label is on the inside.
The door hangers in the garage are very good.
They look great and were easy to install. I did have some issues when the boxes came. They were very beat up, but the doors were in good shape and only had minor scratches. One of the doors did not have the correct latch, but the Quadratec team got me a replacement very quickly. I had to make some minor adjustments to have them close properly, but it was not difficult. My only real issue with the doors is the anti rattle rubber pieces. They are very tiny and only adjust so far. I was able to fix it pretty cheaply by replacing them with larger rubber stoppers. That did the trick and there is no rattle at all. Also, expect to spend another 85-100 bucks on rear view mirrors. They do not come with them and they are on back order. It was a little bit of a let down.
These doors should be a five star easily. The are by far the best looking doors on a jeep. the reason I am giving 4 stars is because i believe the craftsmanship should be better. I received my doors 2 days ago. the driver side door was banged up. I had to unbend it and its not perfect but it will pass. the packaging needs to be a bit better on the edges. I seen another review with the same. The welding job on the inside of the latches of my doors seemed poorly done. the doors stuck out when I put them on. I was gonna return them but the anxiety in me told me that i could make them work and I did. I added spacers at the bottom of ever latch to push the bottoms in that stuck out and it worked. You can't tell that the latches have gaps and they look great so I am keeping them. Looks its a 11 out of 10. I just feel like there's room for improvement on the craftsmanship. I happy with my purchase just upset that I had to rig them to make them fit.
Received these for fathers day and they look great. Easy to install and worth the money. Unfortunately we ordered only the fronts as did not want to lay out $800 in one go. To bad you cant buy the rears separately.
The tube doors looks nice, but they don’t fit the way they do in the video and pictures nor do they look the same. In the video, the tacky logo is on the inside. In reality, it’s stamped on the outside of all four doors. The latches rattle, the bump stop doesn’t reach the door frame to help, the latch mechanism that’s “adjustable” doesn’t adjust in the right direction so the doors (especially the rear doors) stick out about a half inch rather than inline. I complained and they sent me a new set; same thing. Identical. The inside of the door is hollow so it looks sturdy outside but is pretty flimsy when it’s touched or leaned on. Really not thrilled with these but they look better than others on the market. I just wish their descriptions (especially that new video) were accurate.
I’m rating a 3 because while I love the design and look, I had a lot of trouble fitting them in the door posts.2 of the rods on the doors were crooked and I had to remove the hinges fully from the doors and install separately and then install the doors.
Let me start by saying that I think these are the best looking tube doors available. The large diameter tubes look great and the textured finish blends well with the other finishes on my jeep. I bought mine with the "free" mirror promotion and it seemed like a good deal.
Unfortunately, they only look good. They are NOT well built, the tinny sound they make when you close them is borderline embarrassing! The frame is so flimsy that they barely support the mirrors, on a smooth road at low speed they rattle and move so much they are useless- no fault of the mirror- the door is moving- pathetic!
There are adjustable rubber stops on the latches to reduce the rattle- one is missing and the other is too short to make contact with the body. The mirrors come with mounting bolts- no nuts or washers.
It's really a shame because I love how they look. I should return them but I'm considering taking them to a welding shop to see if they can be reinforced.
Bottom line- don't buy them!
Doors are great, only 3 stars as when I ordered, promo was that they came with mirrors. No mirrors received and no response from Quadratec after 3 requests as to when I would get the mirrors.
Would have given a higher review but quality control was subpar. Received my doors with the incorrect rear driver hinges. (Was shipped with passenger side hinges so they were upside down and because they are specific can't just be flipped.) Quadratec badge on the inside of the door is also installed upside down. Mirrors did not come with complete mounting hardware, only the screws were included so had to go to Home Depot to buy washers and nuts to complete the install. Happy with the look but disappointed with the quality control. Quadratec did get the new hinges out to me quick after contacting them.
I've been driving around with my doors off, but two things have been problematic for me, 1) lack of rearview mirrors, and 2) young daughter in the back seat. These tube doors seem to solve both problems well, and are significantly less expensive than the Mopar tube doors. I have to ding two stars for the following: 1) build quality (couple of the metal edges are bent, and when mounting not each door sits in the door well the same), and 2) lack of instructions/provision for eliminating rattle. They sit on the hinges well, but even after adjusting both the hinge mounts and the latch assembly I have rattle. Otherwise a very cost-effective solution, and I really like the large diameter tubes.
