Reviews for Quadratec Brute Strength Aluminum Rear Bumper for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL
I like all aspects of this bumper, but a good addition would be cutouts for Aux. Lights.
I do not recommend for any hard off-roading, if you were stuck bad and used recovery points they would rip right off, should be good for the light trails I'll be doing with it. Looks good, easy to put on, doesn't align well, left side lower than right, can't adjust it anymore. Super light weight though, welds on aluminum look a bit iffy, great concept but could have been designed better.
Nice bumper at a good price for what it is, but either the hardware is junk or the instructions are wrong. the 6mm allen bolt heads will start to strip if torqued to even half of the listed spec.
Great quality bumper, arrived extremely well packaged and undamaged. Looks excellent and feels very rigid. The installation process is not too difficult, and only took a couple hours working by myself.
Only negative is the hardware. I would have liked to see OEM Mopar quality bolts, but the hardware is IMO somewhat less good than factory (even though it is stamped 10.9, the same metric hardness grade). I reused OEM hardware wherever it was possible. Disappointed to see allen key heads on some of the included hardware; standard hex head bolts, ideally flanged, would have been a lot better. I will probably replace the allen hardware with flange bolts.
The brute strength rear aluminum bumper is the highest priced bumper of its type without even having any provision to install the factory parking sensors !
Don’t get me wrong as I do have the front brute strength bumper which in my humble opinion is the choice for the front end . Now if only the powers that be at Quadratec rethink the features on the rear matching bumper.
Was excited to get an aluminum front bumper i installed it and tightening the mounting bracket steal to Jeep frame the bolt stripped. Had to use different bolt nut . Allso a huge concern with the steel hook that mounts to front of bumper that uses 10mm button bolt that the installation manual says to torque to 55 # the first side I started to round out the Allen on the button head 10mm bolt . If you look at the the design of the bumper looks really nice looks that the aluminum bumper was made well . But huge concerns with the front tow hooks that are fastened by 4 10 mm bottomn head bolts . First thing I thought was the the tow hook will get ripped off while using your winch line block and tackle . Or securing vehicle for extraction . It’s almost like they stopped engineering the bumper with tiny bolts . Think the would be better off using 1/2 inch harden bolts washers nuts . For the money you should be able to use tge bumper to get out of the mess with confidence…………. The brut strength aluminum bumper is not up to par and a ton of money ……….. other then that if the up graded the bolts I could see it becoming everything that is needed …… it’s scary that the hooks are held on by tiny bottom head 4 bolts . Needs upgrading for actually using bumper for what is advertised………… quadertec please upgrade these bumpers for the safety of the users …….
After taking off the QEM bumper on my 2019 Rubicon , I put on the Quadratec full aluminum rear bumper on. Made In Russia. Looks good at first except for three problems.
1. They don't tell you that if you have a trailer Hitch you have to Buy two Metric nuts because you can no longer use the factory plate for the out side mounting bolts.
you have to get those before you can put the bumper on!!!!!!
2. THE bumper once bolted up in 1/2 inch lower on the left side !!!!!!!
No Adjustments looks like Heck from behind. Gives the impression the bumper is misaligned.
3. One of the Allen mounting bolt fixed nuts in the left bracket has weld inside the threads. Wont take the bolt!! , and cant bolt the recover hooks securely in place. Try to fine a Tap for this?????
Very Disappointed with Quadratec Product.
