Reviews for Misch 4X4 Big Boy Seat Bracket for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
I’m 6’6” and installed these on the drivers seat of my 2019 JLUR. They provided a ton of legroom however even with the seat lowered all of the way my head was smacking the soundbar which not only uncomfortable but dangerous so I removed them and put the seat back to stock without ever leaving my driveway.
Great for long legs but not torsos. 6’5” here and when I put these in, my head smacked against the soundbar - so I unfortunately had to go back to stock
If anyone you know is putting the big boy 4x4 seat brackets on their 4 door jeep 2019 to 2023, highly advise them to consider 4 things. 1. Will someone short ever drive it? It physically moves the seat back 4 inches which makes it where I can't even touch peddles and I'm 5'8. 2. Do you ever want to put your back seats down again? You won't with those if you have the seat back at all. 3. If you have this car as a family car know a carseat won't fit if you have them installed. Also has 1 inch of raised metal on the back seat floor which could hurt kids. 4. If you are taller than 6'3 please know you will rest your head on the role bar and it is not comfy for long rides due to the 4 inch shift back the brackets put you.
They are made more for 2 door than 4 door and I recommend not installing if you use this jeep as anything other than a crawler or travel car.
Installed these on the driver seat of my '21 JL...extra legroom was great but as a few others mentioned, my head was right up against the rollbar and it was very uncomfortable from a driving and safety perspective. I'm 6'6" and pretty evenly proportioned. The brackets also add a bit of height to the overall seat height which doesn't help.... Ended up taking these out after a week. Really hoping someone can fabricate something to help me out....
Good luck getting these in your 2 door JL. For the price it should have been a smoother install. You will scratch your center console and most likely throw the parts across your driveway in aggravation. I don’t recommend.
Part does not fit. The drivers side bracket on the front left does not reach the bolt
These are great for more legroom but they raise the height of the seat, which doesn't work at all if you're tall. I'm 6'3" and now my hair brushes the ceiling or my head itself touches the speaker bar, depending on how far I have the seat back. Overall the seat is in a higher position, which is counter intuitive... for someone taller I'd want to lower the seat or give the exact same seat height.
