Reviews for Misch 4X4 Big Boy Seat Bracket for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Holy crap, how'd I drive a jeep without these installed. They are awesome. Tons of room now. Easy install.
I love it. I am 6’7” and the extra leg room is impressive. If I put the seat all the way back it’s too far! I’ve never had this happen before in my life!
Installation was easy. Before you put the brackets in, install the upward facing bolts and tape them in place so they don’t slip out while putting the seat back in. If you have trouble with the front right nut near the center console, use a 1/4 inch drive as the socket is smaller in diameter than a 3/8 inch.
You do sit a little higher with the new brackets, but it was easy to use the reclining seat to compensate.
Overall I am very impressed and recommend this if you want more leg room. 5 stars!
The extra legroom is fabulous. Installation took about n hour as the provided instructions could have been a little more detailed. I found it much easier to attach the seat rails to the brackets first and then to the mounting holes. It is amazing what a few inches more knee room feels like. Highly recommended.
Installed these brackets today. Very easy installation, took about 30 minutes. I did not remove my seat, just removed the 4 floor bolts and laid the seat backwards. The hardware mounted up very easily. Only bolt that was a tad difficult to reach was the drivers seat front right floor bolt, everything else was a breeze. Only issue after the fact, which has nothing to do with the installation is the seat sits about 1" high than stock, so for tall people, even with the seat lowered all the way, cut out a little of the upper windshield. But for the added leg room I'll take that very minor issue. Thanks for a great product.
Installed the rails on my gladiator. It took about 40 minutes. They give you lots of extra leg room, [as expected] but your head does get very close to the light bar. I am 6'1". The thing that bothers me a bit is that you head is now right next to the shoulder belt attach bracket. [side impact???]. The rails are very solid and fit well. All in all, I am pleased.
I just installed a set of these for the drivers side and the passengers side.
Installation was easy, and now, I and my better half have sufficient leg room, and exiting the vehicle, for her is easier now as with her knee replacements it was previously hard due to the original seat position to exit the vehicle. Now it's a breeze for her with the additional clearance.
I am very happy with the install and outcome.
Thanks.
Installed the new Big boy seat bracket for the JL 2 Door. Was a little more difficult to get the new bolts to line up with the seat. Once I got them lined up everything tightened fine. Love the extra room. Can't raise the seat all the way up with seat all the way to rear though. Headrest will hit cross bar.
'I have installed these on my 2019 JL 2door. I was concerned because the original release did not fit the 2 door JL. It took about 20 minutes to install. I had trouble with the right rear bolt lining up with the seat bracket. With a little brute force, I managed to get it to fit without trimming any plastic, although it did scratch the plastic console during installation. Because of the tension on the seat getting the bolts to line up, the seat doesn’t slide very easy. I did not need this for leg room as much as a little more space for my mid-section to clear the steering wheel. This gave me the extra inch that I needed. It is worth the money, but could better align with the seat.
These provide great leg room but keep in mind if you have any shorties in you house, they will no longer be able to drive the Jeep. Once the extenders are installed, the seat will no longer pull up close to the steering wheel. These shift the whole seat ensemble 6 inches back. We bought these for my son, but I'm 5' 8" and have to "ballerina" tippy toe to fully depress the clutch with the seat scooted all the way up. My 5' 4" daughter can never drive with these installed. There would be no way she could reach the clutch. My 6' 6" son is very comfortable with the leg room, but his head now hits on the back of the sunroof box. It would be great if these could be developed where they could maintain the ability the pull the seat up as far as the original seat allowed and didn't raise the height of the seat. It's a great idea, just needs some work. I just wanted others to be aware of these issues before they buy.
