Reviews for Flowmaster FlowFX Cat-Back Exhaust System for Jeep Wrangler TJ
This has a great deep rumble to it. It will take a little getting used to making some more noise but its much better than the stock muffler that had a hole rusted through it. Easy install but i would definitely recommend following the instructions that come with it and put a few welds at the connection point. I tacked mine together because i could see the clamp not holding very well on a rough trail.
Got this muffler because i wanted 2 be able 2 here my revs and shifts. Not to loud just right cold start sounds loud but that's only when the motors cold. Install less then a hour i cut off the old muffler.
Sounds great!! OE muffler bolt proved to be a pain but overall an easy install!

First thing: This exhaust is not going to be compatible with any trailer hitch that attaches to the sides of the frame. and anything that hangs below the rear frame cross-member will block the exit.
Second thing: the tight fit of the muffler and tail pipe is because the z cut is done on a press. it crushes the tube just enough to be annoying. if you de-bur it, it helps a lot. if you can, it also helps to open it up ever so slightly. i used the horn of my anvil in the hole and gave it a couple light taps. worked like a charm, no damage. but any large round/cone object will do it. i bet one of those cheap tail pipe expanders would work here too.
Beyond those 2 caveats, which are reasonable for an exhaust at this price, it's a really well made and fits perfectly. The sound is loud, but clean. A cold start drones a bit, but it settles down once it's warm. (manual trans)
PRO-TIP: if you zip-tie the bubble wrap shipping bag around the tip, it will protect the black finish during installation if you bump it against anything. thanks to the other reviewer for the awareness on the fragile finish.

Buy it you won't regret it. Sound is amazing...nice rumble. I hollowed out the catalytic converter. Not to loud cruising at 70 mph. I love it.
