Reviews for Oracle Lighting 5858-023 LED Cargo Light Module with Built-In Emergency Light for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL
If I could leave less than 1 star I would. This product is cheaply made and not worth $10, much less $100+. Installation should be a breeze, but was a PIA. The drivers side screw is difficult to insert as the light housing and screw holes do not line up with the wiper assembly requiring torquing or twisting of the entire cover while attempting to get the screw to line up. Once installed, the lights worked great for about 5 minutes (the white light is not nearly as bright as advertised). When I attempted to turn them off neither switch would work. I unplugged the unit, plugged it back in and then neither light would come back on. Then the white light switch was obviously completely nonfunctional. I replaced the fuse which wasn’t blown, but to no avail. Also, if you unplug it from the cig lighter, the plug has a tendency to swing down and sit right in front of the the tail gate latch. Quadratec usually has excellent products, this ain’t one of them.
DO NOT BUY!!
For a hundred-dollar product, I at least expected this to be installed properly. However, one of the two bolts is too short and doesn't reach (for Driver's Side), so it's only on the vehicle with one tiny bolt. I have no confidence taking this on my first three-month overloading trip across the US and Canada. I contacted Oracle and their response is that I will need to source my own, longer bolt.
It's only a piece of plastic that replaced the similar plastic OEM cover with three short LED strips. There are other cargo lighting available on the market for a fraction of the cost and you can even make your own, which I should've done, from LED strips available on Amazon or a home improvement store.
