Oracle Lighting LED Cargo Light Module with Built-In Emergency Light Reviews
What a no brainer. Although Jl’s should already come with something like this I appreciate Oracle finding the right spot to use a space perfect for lighting.
This is a great accessory. It makes a huge difference in the amount of light in the hatch, and also illuminates the area in back of the Jeep. The emergency flasher is a great idea, as well.
Installation was very easy. I had a bit of a hard time getting the screws to start, but I thought they were T15 heads... turns out they're hex heads, and once I got a long hex key they went in easily. One person complained that they were too short for the driver's side mount, and that's the one I was having trouble with at first. And old-fashioned hex key (rather than something bigger around) is your friend.
I have a dash-cam in the back and so I had the 12V socket switched. I changed it back to always-on for the light (and ran the camera wire up front). The round push button switches for the light and the hazard light are themselves lighted, which is very convenient, but some people have suggested they're concerned about battery drain. I'm tempted to make it switched again because of this, but that seems less convenient, so I haven't decided. I also haven't driven at night yet, so I'm curious as to whether those lights will be bothersome. If so, it's an easy fix to move the fuse back from F43 to F45.
To sum up: I really like this light. It's bright. It looks great -- built in! And it was designed to be simple to install.
Fast delivery; arrived much sooner than I expected and with zero damage.
Installation was very easy and done pretty quickly. The light works very well and illuminates the interior and exterior of the Jeep. The hazard light is a good touch as well.
Overall good stuff
