Reviews for Rugged Ridge AmFib Snorkel System for 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT

I fitted this to my 2019 RHD Aussie JLU. I had to modify the back of the guard mount by cutting out the rear of the inlet to fit over the Jeep frame. Not a big deal, but it did require an approx 10cm by 3cm compromise to the lower part of the inlet. Other than that...installation was very easy and required no further modification to make it fit the RHD variant. Just four M6 bolts to swap out the upper v lower intakes. As the instructions suggest, this is not really about deep water crossings as there are far more susceptible components under the hood than the air box.
Love the look, but. I noticed that the water drain valve is mostly useless, and this fit was not as tight as it should be. One issue I found came a week after install when I needed to install a new battery, I had to remove the tube that covers the battery. Then within a month while installing some lighting, I blew a fuse. After removal and reinstall two more times, I have noticed that the plastic which holds the metal ban-clamps, is collapsing. Hand tight is too tight, and now I can barely get it hand tight before crushing the plastic where rubber "hoses" go, needs to be reinforced. Thinking a removing entire assembly and trashing it!
Pretty easy install, fortunately no missing bolts / parts as with other users. Time will tell as far as durability goes.
I agree with all the review above, typical Rugged Ridge quality, design is 80/100, execution and quality control is barely 60, customer service is 20.
It's gonna look great at the mall, though the fit isn't perfect for the price. The airbox adapter didn't line up the bolt hole along the hood line, it was about 1/2 inch off, so you have to force it in place. The cowl piece did fit nicely, I painted my gator to match. The low mount intake works fine, but the high mount with the rubber seals is not a $600 fit. The drain tube seems useless, there would still be 2 inches of water in the airbox due to the factory construction. It will not turn your jeep into a submarine, but will keep water from splashing. Mine came with only of 3 of 4 screws for the low mount.
Quality is lacking for the price. Plastic is cheap, and the upper doesn't fully seat into the gasket (there is a gap). This is not a water-tight snorkel, so don't set expectations high. The cowl intake outlet is thin plastic and has no ribbing, so expect it to warp and become a hot air intake if under hood temps rise. Two stars for sounding nice and having a clever design
Good cold air intake. I would not call this thing a snorkel. Too many places for failure. Fit was horrible nothing lines or snaps into place the way it should. Reusing the factory air box is a mistake they should have started with one piece air box. All the gaskets don't sit or seal the way they should. I was excited before I purchased but now very disappointed. I do not recommend for anyone looking for a snorkel, maybe for a cold air intake. Still too many ill fitting parts I expected better.
I agree with Vincent. Huge gap in the high top mount. Contacted Rugged Ridge and they said it's normal...
