Will the the high mount or low mount work with a Gobi rack? The low mount looks like it won’t interfere with anything but the high mount looks like it may be blocked by the Gobi racks a pillar… would you be able to confirm?
Gobi offers a bracket that allows for snorkels by special request from my understanding, though we don't currently offer the Gobi line. Thanks for your inquiry.

Is it really necessary to remove the ambient air duct if I never plan to go into any deep water ?
I've heard someone mention that it's not really necessary.
The portion of the instructions is not listed as an option, so unfortunately it is required to remove the ambient air duct. Thanks for your inquiry.

Is it advisable to only open the drain valve when it rains / the car is washed or to always have it open?
Check out our video with Host Rob doing an installation. It is recommended to run with it open unless you plan to see some deep water. If that's the case, just close it for the deep water crossings, then reopen it when there's no more deep water threat.

I wondering if this is legal in california?
Rugged Ridge states that this is C.A.R.B. Exempt.

What cold air intake will work with this?
None. This snorkel requires modification and re-installation of the factory airbox using provided adapters.

I have 4" KC HiLiTES mounted on KC HiLiTES 7318 A-Pillar Light Mount Brackets. Will the passenger side light assembly interfere with mounting the complete (hi-low) snorkel configuration.
Yes there will be interference with the passenger side light bracket.

Will air be brought in from both the side and top or will you be able to block off the side intake for water crossings?
No this system is not designed to be that deep in the water...from the manufacturer instructions and warning : "The Rugged Ridge snorkel is designed to provide clean, dry air to the engine. There are many considerations to make when increasing a vehicle’s fording depths. There are a variety of vehicle systems, beside the engine air intake, that are not intended to exceed the standard vehicle fording depth."

I'm interested in the low mount, but it looks like water will enter from the side, how does it keep water out say washing the truck, or running it thru a car wash or heavy rain.
With the intake being on the side of the vehicle, the likelihood of rain entering is relatively low. The snorkel system does come with a drain that gets installed in the air box that the customer will be responsible for using after rain or a car wash.
