Reviews for Crown Automotive RT27061 Rough Trail Front Grab Handles for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ
Very sturdy. Super fast (maybe 15 min per side) and easy install on a 1999 TJ. No plastic to trim on this model year. A must have if you're lifted. Much better than strap on grab handles for entry/exit.
I have handle like this on my new jeep. My husband just got a 2006 jeep and is fixing it up so I can climb into jeep.
Great product. Install is a little tricky but watching this video is key. https://youtu.be/2iQLmTEW5cg?si=37eBHqfZAx21SrVt
The instructions recommend a 1 1/2" hole but I went with a 1" hole saw bit as per the video and it made for a perfect fit. It's tricky getting the rubber grips back on. Overall it was about an hour and 15 min install.
The handles work on my TJ.
I installed these handles in Sept of 2020. They have been a great asset to the Jeep. 2005 LJ. The wife can hop into the passenger side, 4-inch lift, without any trouble. And it give a solid grip for the off road bouncing around. I use the drivers side handle getting in the Jeep as well. They trimmed out well, the LJ has a valance around the windshield, nice details. Handle is rubber and has held up like new, even in the SoCal summer heat. A must have for any serious Jeeper. There is a good installation video at https://youtu.be/2iQLmTEW5cg
Quality Product
Study, good quality
Just installed these on my '99 Jeep TJ. I was impressed with them straight out of the box, they are solid and heavy duty. They installed in about 20 minutes without having to modify anything (I did need to loosen some trim around the windshield on one side to slide the mounting flange under). They provide a super sturdy grab point to assist in entering and existing the Jeep as well as an extra spot to hang onto while driving. I was a little worried about them blocking visibility, but not an issue at all. Recommend them to anyone needing a secure handle.
These are great, installed in less than 10 minutes in my 2002 TJ. No cutting was needed as others mentioned within their reviews.
Work way better than I expected, I was a bit weary due to only having "one" mounting point but they are way sturdy.
If you have plastic trim on there you will need to cut a hole if you want to reuse your trim, I used a Dremel, start small and work your way bigger until it fits through, there was a video on YouTube I used as a guide.
