Reviews for AEV N0721000AE 2in Spacer Suspension System for 18-24 Jeep Wrangler JL
Budget friendly lift that will retain my Rubicon suspension.
Easy to install
Great reviews.
This is my second AEV lift, first spacer lift, and so far I'm very pleased. Build quality was A+ as usual with AEV's high quality products. Install was straightforward and the height is just right for 35's on a Rubicon. Looking forward to flexing it soon on the trails.
Nice product but better work with Mopar LCA’s installed. Return to correct factory
Had my mechanic install this system yesterday on my 2018 JL Sahara which had previously been stock. Up-sized to 35 inch tires (Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3: LT295/70R-18). These tires are great because they fit on the OEM wheels and do not extend beyond the side of the body (which would make them illegal in Maryland!). Between the spacers and the enlarged tires, there are 5 inches of additional ground clearance! The PROSNAP worked perfectly to calibrate the speedometer. The only thing I didn't realize is that in upgrading to the bigger/heavier tires, I needed hardware to relocate the spare so that it clears the top of the bumper AND to reinforce the tailgate hinges. I cannot tell ANY difference in driving/handling on the road at speeds up to 70 MPH. I'll know trail performance after an upcoming JEEP Jamboree, but I am pretty sure I won't get high centered this year! This kit is absolutely perfect!!
This is my second AEV spacer lift purchased and it’s even better than last gens version in my opinion. Feels as close to stock as you can get. I paired with a set falcon shocks and steering stabilizer and couldn’t be happier.
Installed the AEV 2" Spacer Suspension System for the ‘18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL on my ‘18 Wrangler JL over the July 4th weekend with the help of a neighbor who had recently installed a lift kit on his new Ford Ranger. We did not use a coil compressor (though we had one ready).
Afterwards, my neighbor and I both agreed with the reviewers who complained about AEV’s Installation Instructions being terrible (especially for do-it-yourself auto mechanics). The deficiency of their instructions are most evident when compared to other (superior) aftermarket installation manuals, such as Quadratec’s Installation Manual for their Aluminum Front Bumper for the ‘18+ Wrangler JL (PN: 12057.0261), which I previously installed on my JL.
I gave the AEV product five stars for quality and for maintaining the JL’s OEM-type ride quality. But I would only give two stars for their instructions. For example on pg. ii, AEV has the following basic caveat about their instructions: “ … [they] are not written nor intended for someone not familiar with auto repair.” And there’s no description of the size or types of sockets or wrenches needed for any of the steps—other than stating you need “Common Hand Tools.” Moreover; the “hardware pack” is a separate sheet that should have been (logically) incorporated into the installation instructions along with the install illustrations. It also would have been helpful to have shown the torque settings with the illustrations too, versus having them on a separate page.
It’s obvious AEV’s instructions were written by their “engineering folks” and was not designed to be user-friendly for do-it-yourself auto mechanics. It’s just an "outline" of how-to steps without supportive details. My next project is to install larger wheels and tires and to use the AEV ProCal Snap that was included.

Great quality parts. Added the longer Mopar lower control arms with the kit to set my caster angle at just over 5. Feels like the Jeep did stock, rides and drives great.
The instructions aren’t very good. There’s errors in the type. Nothing to tell you which shock extensions are for the front or back. Once you get in to the process, the parts only got one place, but if they’d been labeled it would save time. I expect more from AEV. Like someone else posted, you can’t torque the rear lower control arm bolts after installing the rear bump stop extensions, so add them last.
Overall very pleased. Makes 35’s look perfect on a JLUR, and unlike most spring lifts, you get exactly 2” here.
The on road handling is awesome drive like a factory component. I put the kit 2018 JL unlimited. First off-road adventure will be in November. Still running factory rims with 33” Bridgestone KO 2 all terrain tire. We used a lift the rear installation was easy. Front was difficult don’t know how you would do it at home. Recommend using a spring compressor. Gives the Jl a great stance and nice look. Order my kit direct from AEV.
