Reviews for Quadratec Aluminum Modular Engine & Transmission, and Transfer Case Skid Plates for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited with 3.6L engine
Very impressed with this product. Install was very easy with well laid out instructions.
The cross members are very stout and I’m certain will hold up very well. The cross member in front will do a good job to protect the exhaust while leaving it open enough to not trap heat. The rear cross member is equally stout and ties into the fuel tank skid very well. Both do an excellent job of protecting the bolts.
The skid plates are very thick so look like they will hold up very well. The aluminum will certainly dissipate heat better but also don’t add a lot of weight. They also do a pretty good job of protecting the hardware. The engine skid has a large enough port for the oil pan that I have no concerns about oil changes.
All in all I’m very happy with the overall system and plan to later add the fuel tank skid.
Will add some pictures.
Great product!
Went trail riding in NC and AL and landed on several rocks. Yes, they bend, but not significantly and nowhere close to contacting any components. I was glad to have the protection.
Easy to install but the diagrams could be larger and more detailed, otherwise 5 stars.
The entire system is great but it you have new models from 21 on the engine bay skid plate won’t mouth to the engine Frame. 21 models changes their frames from the 18-20. Just a heads up for anyone interested in buying. I just purchased the entire system and this is what I ran into for my 21 jl
These are absolutely NOT beefy, they look thick but after a couple time on the Rubicon they are completely bent to the point the transfercase skid actually touched the transfercase. The engine skid cross member bend as well and start to rust.
Save your money and go for a quality steel skid plate. Not worth the weight saving.
