Style and look
I like the concept and love the look. Good for the cheap price. Great material. Mine had a QC issue. The rear cover was missing some Velcro, but Quadratec CS got me a new one on the way immediately. So no real complaints there. The main flaw I see is the lack of stability on the highway. I have is as tight as it will possibly go and it still rises up above the door surrounds and shows daylight. I think if there was a built in tie down point between the front and rear door at the door surround it would help tremendously. Also, it dose have sage above the front and rear passenger sections. I solved that with some Skid Row Top Props i already had. I had to trim them down slightly so it wasn't to much pressure. I'm going to add some padding above the rear wind jammer at the roll bar and see if I can get a tighter seal as well. I may even see if I can create some sort of anchor point to help stabilize the edges at high speed too. Anyway, I do like it. Has some small issues, but it's great for what it is.
Overall satisfied with the quality of the the top. The material is very nice. I’m disappointed in the instructions supplied with top and the wind jammer. A little more detail on placement of ALL of the hold down straps would be helpful. I’m also having trouble with the passenger side rear canvas staying in place. I’m not sure if I’m not getting it in the channel correctly it’s something not shown in the instructions. I’m also a little disappointed in the amount of flapping that the top does at highway speeds. I was going to purchase the more expensive top but it was not in stock. I think I should have waited. I haven’t contacted customer service yet but I will do so tomorrow to see if there are any fixes for the issues I have.
Honest review. I've had the top for 6 months now. Very well made top, fabric is top quality and fit is good. This does however pool a lot of water up in back cover and the top. It says that in description but it is alot of water that it pools. Sides dont always cover the rails. Then pours into the inside. Back cover pools then goes through the zipper into the back. Florida's rain can be crazy hard at times so bear that in mind. Love the look of the top just think it should have a few supports so it didn't pool so much water. It will have to figure something out.
The top is not the worst option. Like others have said the surrounds are not the best option and I also had one break. Quadratec sent a replacement pretty quickly. The install instructions were a little confusing, but I eventually got it done. Mine does alright in the rain. The biggest concern with rain is that water collects on the top and starts pulling it down. The top is only held down by a steel wire that runs over the surround. So I wonder if eventually the weight of the water would collapse the top. To prevent this I usually go drive the Jeep around to throw the water off during the day. It works, but not sure I would recommend it.
Top is ok. Bikini does not sit on factory rails completely. Puddles on top and also on the dust cover. Knobs broke when tightening on windshield.
It's okay. I had such high hopes for the top but to be honest, it has been a let down thus far. Putting the top on the Jeep was a bit of a hassle; the instructions aren't the greatest but you'll eventually figure it out. I did have a door surround pillar crack during assembly but Quadratec was awesome with quickly replacing it. Once it's on the Jeep, it looks good but that is about it. Mastertop does a good job of letting you know in the instructions that the top isn't waterproof... However, I now cringe every time I have to leave the Jeep out in the rain because water keeps finding it's way inside. For the price of the top, I thought it would do a better job of repelling rain water. Also, it is somewhat time consuming going from top to topless. If I had the option, I would return it because isn't very practical and I can't help but think, I wasted my money on a "so so" top when there are better options available.
The quality of the door surrounds on the hardtop version is pretty bad. They are definitely a pain to get together so if you are going to take this on, be sure you are up for the task and can take some breaks or be ready with a healthy dose of patience. The rear driver-side surround I received was cracked which was a drawback but tried to at least test fit. When I opened the bag with the mounting screws (for securing along the roll cage), one of those also arrived broken with the handle well separated from the screw itself. At this point a little terrified to open anything else. I'm not sure the quality of this product is up to par and will be looking for some other product options.
