Reviews for DynoMax 39537 Muffler Elimination Pipe for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL
I just put this muffler delete pipe on my 2018 JL sport 2 door. I was scared it would sound more like a muscle car than a Jeep. However, it sounds great and adds a tremendous amount of ground clearance on the back end.
Easy install, great price. I saw reviews on the flow master muffler delete that everyone had trouble getting it to fit on the OEM connection point. Well this one fit right up correctly. Nice sound too.
2018 JL 3.6
I have a 2019 Jeep 2.0 turbo. I know they say it only fits for the 3.7, but I myself and others on the Jeep Turbo facebook page have this on ours. Its awesome!!
This delete pipe from DynoMax Is awesome! First of all it allows you to get rid of the big ole muffler that Jeep threw up there I think it’s something like 45lbs (not sure though) And second it sounds AWESOME! The perfect tone not too loud but you know you got something. More at the lower RPMs for sure. I haven’t notice any real perform gains or gas mileage changes other then the fact I like the sound so I think I’m in the throttle more, HAHA!
I have a 3.5" lift on my jl and even with the spacer blocks lowering my sway bar 3/4" there is no interference no engine codes pop up good to go. the stock exhaust is very restricted as i'm sure you all know this defiantly frees up some go. installation was way to easy 1/2 hr tops. no change in fuel consumption that i can see other than i put my foot into it way more..... see you on the trail.
Looks good, sounds good and provides better ground clearance. Black paint helps to make it less visible. I did cut a notch so it would slide past the anti rotation stud on the connecting pipe. You could also grind the stud off.
Very easy to install and can be done without lifting the Jeep. It changes the tone and volume in lower gears but is not as noticeable when you're not on the throttle or when at cruising speed. Great quality.
Very easy to install and was able to remove the muffler and get this on without using a jack. The instructions are terrible, but there are YouTube videos. You'll need a 3/4" ratchet, 18" extension, 13mm & a deep 15mm. Its DEFINITELY louder than stock in 1st, but with the 8sp transmission it shifts so low that you don't hear it unless you give it some gas. No drone that bothered me at all.
I received this today and installed it onto my, manual trans, 2020 JLR right away. The hardest part was getting the stock muffler off (even with less than 3K, it took a bit of work). I was really surprised that it still very quiet at idle and just slightly louder off idle (I can now drive my JL without having to watch the tach). At 55 mph and above, there is a slight drone, but a click of volume on the radio takes care of that. I suppose the only negative thing can say (and the reason I only gave it 4 stars) is that I would have preferred that it extended out from under the Jeep; I believe this accounts for the heard drone. I will be getting it modded to extend it and will update this review once it is done. All in all I am satisfied with the ease of install, design, and sound.
Just installed it on my 2.0. It fits perfectly, to those wondering. Install was super easy, hardest part was removing the stock exhaust. Once thats off, it takes maybe 5 minutes to install. Undecided about the sound. My immediate though upon idling it for the first time was that its a bit obnoxiously loud with some drone and pops. Im going to give it a few weeks though...
