Reviews for Cold Case MOJ995 Aluminum Performance Radiator for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Bottom leaked horribly after 4 months. Would not recommend. My OEM radiator lasted over 160,000 miles. This POS lasted 4000 miles. Trying to contact manufacturer for warranty.
DO NOT BUY!!! I have went through 4 radiators already . The last one didn’t even last 2 months. Before anyone says anything I put new coolant in the system every time. To make things worse when I called quadratec after the first one started leaking. They were out of stock, took them almost 6 months to get a replacement to me. This last time quadratec wouldn’t hardly even talk to me about getting my replacement said they would look into it and never call back. After a month or so someone at quadratec said I would have to contact the manufacturer and get a replacement. Total bs in my opinion if you are going to sell the product you should stand behind it or pull it off the shelf. And definitely don’t make the customer do the work oh and by the way the manufacturer charges you shipping so get ready to pay even more total waste of money and my time replacing the part and dealing with the headache!
Installed radiator myself first time. Developed major leak after 6 months. Manufacturer warrantied first unit provided replacement, had second unit installed at a jeep specialty shop. Developed leak after 8 months. Asked for refund, manufacturer would only replace with warranty unit. Going with another manufacturer.
Terrible value. This "all welded" radiator lasted less than a year before having multiple leaks. This wasn't abused, it was on a daily driver road jeep. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND.
Installed radiator 10 months later leaking ,
Return to stock radiator from Mopar.
This radiator isn’t very good. Works great for a year and then I got pin hole leaks. Quadratec was wonderful enough to replace it quickly and easily with another cold case radiator. It’s now been another full year and this radiator is doing the same thing. Quadratec was nice enough again to replace it with a mopar radiator this time. I will never get a cold case ever again. Unfortunate.
Not happy at all. Bought and installed to find it had a leak. Contacted cold case who would not believe it was leaking and wants me to take a video to prove it. The leak is in the lower inner corner behind fan shroud. Guy said he wants to see where it's leaking in real time. This means I have to take elec fan shroud off, then stick my arm down there to video while running. Completely unacceptable. Now it's developed second leak. Very unhappy
It's leaking around where the tubes enter into the side tanks on both sides. I am losing 1/2 a gallon of antifreeze in 5 days. My Jeep is strictly on road back and forth to work. Hopefully I can get it covered under warranty.
The only downside: this is the 2nd replacement, and it developed a leak in only a month!
First replacement (with Cold Case) lasted 3 months.
There is a possible issue with quality control of precision welding.
This one developed an invisible crack in the 6th top inner row, passenger side.
First replacement developed similar cracks in 5-6th top inner row, on both sides.
Results in minimal coolant loss (thanks to being above the return hose) and needs to be monitored closely.
Cracks in lower rows would result in complete coolant loss!
Coolant: Prestone 50/50, fresh. Checked for electrolysis, abnormal voltages, and pH. In the 2nd installation also grounded to the chassis.
Vehicle use: strictly on-road, with occasional potholes, ice/snow roughness - if vibration is a factor. Extreme seasonal temperature variations, expansion/contraction stress: 50F in garage to 10F outside almost instantly, then hit with almost 200F when thermostat decides to open several minutes later.
First one I installed failed after about 10 months, they replaced under warranty. That one has failed now after a little over a year. I will not purchase again.
