Reviews for Cold Case MOJ995 Aluminum Performance Radiator for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Good
First one received was damaged, second was resent quickly.
Was able to drop it in and put it to work. Went on a 10 hr round trip road trip with out any issues. I am very pleased
Radiator arrived two days early. The wife who has zero mechanical ability helped me put it in in less than two hours. The manufacturing tolerances made the install as easy as such a project can be for a shade tree mechanic such as myself. Highly recommend this over the aluminum and plastic Mopar part this replaced.
Jeep runs so much cooler!
Outstanding improvement over the stock radiator. Installation is a pain, but that's Jeep's fault. All the bolt holes lined up perfectly & it came with all new hardware. The only negative thing I can say is the plastic trim piece on top doesn't fit anymore. But that's only because this thing is so much better than the original. I'd buy it again & highly recommend.
I've had this rad installed on my '09 for about 3 months now. My factory one developed hairline cracks around the mounting studs and I needed to replace it. I was not going to install another OEM one, only to have the plastic tanks crack again. My friend installed a Cold-Case rad in an old truck we are restoring, so I got to see the craftsmanship before I purchased mine.
They didn't disappoint. All the welds on this radiator are top-notch. The screws to attach the factory fan shroud are included, as well as the screws to bolt the assembly to the vehicle. Transfer that shroud and all the rubber bumpers from the factory unit and you are good to go. Some of the screws to attach the aircon condenser to the front of the rad were a pain to install, but that is due to the Jeep's design, not Cold-Case.
If you are looking for a quality, all-metal replacement for your JK, pick this one up. It's great!
This is a radiator! Make sure you have extra antifreeze on hand to fill this tank. I have two Cold-Case radiators on for my 4.0L and one for my 3.8L and they both run much cooler.
After a mishap with a performance radiator bought off eBay failing in less than 2 weeks I was ecstatic to get this one. Shipped super fast, welds are perfect, holds fluids, and is cooling. Installation took 30-45 minutes and went smooth. No modifications needed for my 2007 JK. Highly recommended and very satisfied.
AC condenser holes did not align with radiator until I drilled the condenser holes to 3/8" and added #12 washers so the bolts wouldn't go through the enlarged holes. Top two bolts hold bushings, and aluminum radiator had thinner material where it slides into bushings, so I glued 80 mil plexiglas shaped to fit to the radiator so it didn't vibrate forward and back. After bolting in at the top, the radiator bushings on the feet did not reach the ledge with holes for the pegs. Worried this would cut the bushings at the top (or sheer the rather thin bolts) so I ended up creating 3 shims of 80 mil plexiglass for the passenger side (5/8" slotted shims) and two for the driver side. Glued it all in with high temp silicone. Solid install after shimming and drilling out the condenser's holes.
