Reviews for Teraflex 1165200 1.5" Performance Spacer Lift Kit for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited
Wife wanted her JLU Sahara Unlimited to look less "squatty" so we replaced her factory 255/70R18 tires with 275/70R18 and installed this lift on her mall crawler. Combined, she got over 3" of clearance over where she was with her worn down tires. The installation was just okay. It took a little over 5 hours but a lot of that time was figuring how to lift and drop the components and running out to the shed for tools. I only had a two-ton jack and really needed about 2-3" more height with my 6 ton jack stands to support the frame with ample workroom. 3-ton would probably work fine but they just didn't look as sturdy. We also didn't loosen the control arms as shown in the instructions, they were torqued way too hard to break and proceeded without it with no issues. Like others have mentioned, the rear are a little more challenging to bolt into place with no clearance but figured out a method after 30 minutes of struggling and cussing. Got everything in, torqued to the right specs and all looks good! Ride seems the same, the biggest noticeable difference is getting in and out! Even the wife said she can't feel a difference. Very happy.
Gives me the lift I am looking for at a good price.
Easy to install.
Love the brand
Handles great. Not much difference from stock ride quality, gained about 1 1/4” height from floor to fender.
Good heights decent price with tire size 295 70 17 on jeep wrangler 2021
Installed this evening. It took the 4 hours with simple tools and jacks. Only issue is mounting the rear spacers. It is difficult to reach the top of the bolt. It took some time, but finally got it done.
The 1.5" spacer lift from Teraflex is a great cost effective solution to provide additional spacing for 33" tires, extra ground clearance, and maintain a clean OE proportional appearance. DiY installation can be a challenge for home enthusiasts as the installation videos all reflect vehicles raised on a garage lift and also leaves room for doubt without thoroughly explaining the importance or relevance of a procedure. As an example, the instructions and videos specify to remove and discard brake line brackets. After an email to Teraflex support, they indicated that in testing the brackets could interfere with the brake lines when combined with longer non-OE shocks. We reinstalled the brake line brackets and have run blue/moderate off road trails with no interference. Additionally, the instructions also do not provide all of the torque specifications. Overall, I would consider this spacer lift a good interim cost effective step that does the job ahead of a full fledged lift kit.
Nearly impossible to mount the rear spacers with bolts supplied. Used carriage bolts instead very easy and very fast!
