Reviews for Fox® Racing Shox 985-24-173 Performance Series 2.0 Smooth Body IFP Steering Stabilizer for 18-22 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
Not sure if its because my jlu sport isnt lifted at the moment but i put on 295-70-18’s toyo. And figured id change this right after and the steering is reaaally heavy like a major difference it is a bit longer then the oem one. And i feel my steering wheel move more with bumps then before. Put the oem one back but have hope itll work better once i lift it. Lol
Installed this on a brand new 2021 Gladiator Sport and as others have reported, it pulls the Jeep hard to the right. I tried the steering wheel lock-to-lock method a few times right after installation and it still pulled right. Even took the stabilizer off of the Jeep and primed it by hand 5 times by compressing it fully and letting it extend naturally. Re-installed the stabilizer and it still pulls the Jeep to the right. Installed the factory stabilizer back on it and and the pull is gone. Build quality and looks are great but design is flawed.
As far as being a stabilizer goes, this has made my JT feel a lot better with 35" KO2s but like many others, it now has a pull to the right that doesn't exist with the factory or no stabilizer. Recommend getting the 985-02-127 through-shaft version instead.
Ordered this to replace stock stabilizer, after installed notice a considerable pull to the right on my JT. I removed Fox stabilizer to check damping action, the one they sent acted more like a shock rather than a “neutral stabilizer”.Which was why I was get a push on steering linkage. Money wasted.....
I haven't noticed any difference over my stock stabilizer. In fact I get more rightward push than with the stock unit. Otherwise, it feels about the same. Running a JLUR on 37s.
