MOAB, Utah — Chilly early weather Saturday gave way to a nice clear, sunny day on Sevenmile Rim with our 30th Anniversary Wrangler YJL. Along for the ride was one of the vehicle's participating sponsors — Rock Slide Engineering — as well as our long-time friend Jeremy Rowan who owns Moab-based Outlaw Adventure Tours, and one of our influencers Matt Nelson and his buddy.
Sevenmile was a great shakedown trail to discover just how capable this vehicle would be when leaving pavement. After all, we did not build it just to be a red carpet queen. We want it to be just as at home among the red rocks.
And so it was.
The thing easily handled washed out trail areas, uneven slickrock, and crawled down and up Wipe-Out Hill almost like a speed bump. It even posed for a few pictures with Monitor Butte as the background.
Also nice was the amount of people in other EJS groups who recognized the YJL from previous social pictures and Torque articles, and who stopped to take their own pictures or just to let us know how much they loved the build.
We do too.
Our anniversary YJL will be at the Dixie Off-Road Expo, just south of Moab, on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 30-31) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
