MOAB, Utah — Five weeks.
That's all the time organizers of the Dixie Off Road Expo had to put together a Jeep event coinciding with the annual Easter Jeep Safari in nearby Moab.
In year's past, the Red Rock 4-Wheelers would host a Jeep show at the Spanish Trail Arena towards the latter half of EJS week, however this year Grand County health regulations made the show a non-starter.
So, just over the line in San Juan County, Dixie Off Road was able to secure the necessary permits to host a show after deciding that EJS attendees still wanted such an event.
Numerous major Jeep aftermarket companies were in attendance Tuesday, and set up shop just behind the Dixie building. Most brought in built-up company vehicles touting their products, and had reps available to review items and hand out giveaway items. Some sold products, while others, like Quake Lighting, even displayed new items like their 9"Halo LED Light Kit.
Of course, with our anniversary Wrangler YJL in town for EJS, we brought it along with us at our tent, and had die-cast YJ replicas of Quadratec's original Wrangler that helped start the company, EJS vinyl commemorative stickers, hats and magnets as giveaways.
Jeep was also at the show Tuesday and had numerous 392 Wranglers, as well as a Mojave Gladiator and a few other vehicles, that offered test out into the Utah desert for show goers.
The Dixie Off Road Expo continues Wednesday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located just south of Moab at 11858 South Hwy. 191.
