So you say you want a two-door Jeep truck.
Well, most likely you'll never get to have a new one. But at least with this 2019 Easter Jeep Safari Concept, you can see what it looks like in the wild.
Jeep calls it the J6, and this concept is all truck, all the time—mixing classic Jeep truck styling of the late 1970s with new Jeep Performance Parts from Mopar.
Overall, the Jeep J6 truck is a Rubicon that designers have customized into a two-door configuration, maximizing cargo space with a large, six-foot functional bed “box” area that is 12 inches longer than the standard Jeep Gladiator bed.
From there, the Jeep Design team formulated some custom Metallic Brilliant Blue paint, which is a nod to the exterior look of the 1978 Jeep Honcho. Overall, the J6's length is 201 inches, while the wheelbase checks in at 118.4 inches which matches the current generation Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
The J6 bed area is protected by a prototype body-color matching spray-in bedliner, while a sturdy, two-and-a-quarter-inch steel prototype sport bar carries a set of four, five-inch Jeep Performance Parts LED lights that each push out 4,800 lumens. Additionally, a prototype spare tire carrier stores up to a 37-inch tire.
Prototype 17-inch beadlock wheels in a 'deep dish' design contrast with the J6's Metallic Brilliant Blue exterior with a Brass Monkey color, and are encircled by a silver beadlock ring. A Mopar two-inch lift kit provides plenty of clearance for the vehicle's 37-inch tires.
Additional modifications help protect the J6 against off-road obstacles, including a prototype Mopar two-inch steel stinger bar that bolts to the Rubicon front bumper and rock rails customized with two-inch steel tubes welded to the standard Jeep Gladiator rails. The vehicle's hardtop is removable and classic Jeep J6 badging is present on the tailgate and side fenders.
As far as lighting, the stinger bar acts is a mounting point for four additional five-inch LED lights, with another two bolted near the A-pillars—for a total of 10 five-inch LEDs. The front grille is painted a custom Satin Black, and the stock Jeep Gladiator Rubicon hood is accented with Mopar hood latches featuring the Jeep logo. Jeep's award-winning Pentastar 3.6L engine also receives a performance bump through a cold-air intake.
