I found this Jeep on the Internet and made a long interstate trip to get it home. When I finally got the Jeep into my shop I went through all lube fluids. I carefully cleaned the differential units and replaced gaskets with the best "LubeLocker" coated metal gaskets. I began to add some simple basics like tow hooks and tubular bumpers. I rebolted and rewelded the front and rear bumpers and the new nerf bars. Since I had already built my own double gas tank carrier to ride the hitch socket, I felt the need to reweld and strengthen the square hitch. I also designed my own camp tools carrier for under the hood because there is a lot of room with the 2.5 L engine. Naturally, this lead to the purchase of a hood lock. When I put the lights on the front and back I didn't' skimp on wattage. I installed the Rugged Ridge 6.5″ rectangular floods on the front and a smaller single halogen light on the rear. I also mounted Rugged Ridge 6″ flare fenders. I had to buy a new American Racing Outlaw II wheel, 15 x 8 for the 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires, because the Jeep had no spare. I raised the spare tire light 1.5 inches. I still have lots of plans for this Jeep and am now looking for a winch and the horn mechanism for inside the steering wheel along with many other improvements.
