Our jeep adventure began 1 year ago with the purchase of a 2003 jeep wrangler sport.
We chose this particular model for a couple of reasons. 1st being the 4ltr in line 6 cylinder.
In my oppion this is a great engine. It handles well at highway speeds and has great low end torc. This engine is also easily modified. With parts from qudratec. For example the k&n air filter and other goodies. The 2nd reason was the automatic transmission. I know that the choice of transmissions is cause for some pretty heated debates around the campfires. But if you don’t enjoy shifting any longer like me and like the constant power when climbing hills than this is what I recommend.
The 1st addition to our TJ was a 4 inch skyjacker economy lift. I chose this lift for the clearance to fir the 33x12x15 procomp all terrain tires. In my oppion it also allows the best flex for your money. However when you are having this installed don’t forget the necessary extras such as the track bar. I bought the adjustable one from Rubicon express...
It helped with the imfomace death wobble. I also received jks disconnects. These are wonderful. They allow you to disconnect the front with little effort. We also have a Detroit locker in the rear I like the fact of not worrying what is dragging. In the front we have a truetrack. It helps when you really need it and still handles great on the road.
The only side effects of the lockers are the clicking noise in the rear when we turn a corner on dry pavement. I can live with that. Reliability is more important to me.
Our next purchase was the KC day lighters and the after market head lights. They really improve the lighting of the world at night and o yes don’t forget the windshield mounts for the extra lighting. In some states you must cover the lights on the windshield. These too can be purchased at qudratec.com. Don’t forget the safety equipment such as 1st aid kit and fire extinguisher. For Christmas this year my father in-law gave me the wench on the front. I also have warren fender flairs 7 inches to fit the wider tires. We also have a small air compressor. So we don’t have to rely on others to pump up our tires.
Well there you have it our jeep the way we want it and it didn’t break the bank.
If you set a budget you can get all the extras you want thanks for reading and remember tread lightly and use qudratec for all your after market needs.
