Everyone loves some outdoor fun, right?
And at Carolina Adventure World, the southeast’s largest outdoor playground, fun comes in droves.
Located in Winnsboro, South Carolina, the Carolina Adventure World is open 364 days per year — closing only on Christmas — offering musical entertainment, racing and off-road competitions, private tours, camper, cabin and yurt sites, as well as plenty of other activities.
Whether that means rock crawling for you, mud bogging, exploring the park’s 100-plus miles of trails with family and friends, or taking one of parks’s many guided rides, the place has a ton to offer.
With great fun, though, comes great responsibility. So one of the latest Quadratec 50-for-50 Trail Improvement Initiative events helped install 22 posters encouraging all park riders to ‘protect the fun at Carolina Adventure World’ by following Tread Lightly!’s T.R.E.A.D Principals.
Earlier this month, volunteers installed the signage in 19 cabins around the park, as well as a bathhouse and yurt-gathering location. Three different versions included visuals for ATV/Motorcycles, ATV/UTV vehicles and UTV/Jeep — all to represent the multiple kinds of off-road recreation that Carolina Adventure World offers.
“A heartfelt thank you to Tread Lightly! and Quadratec for their invaluable commitment and support in promoting ethical off-road behavior,” said Southern Entertainment’s Jenny Eickmeyer. “Their support has been, and will continue to be, instrumental in fostering responsible and sustainable practices, paving the way for future generations of adventurers.”
This Adventure World Poster Installation project was the 20th of 50 total trail and public land restoration events that Quadratec will help sponsor through the end of 2023.
So far, through its supported projects, the 50-for-50 Stewardship Grant has accumulated 4,516 volunteer hours with a total value of $134,672, pulled away 78,155 pounds of trash and improved 452 miles of trail.
Quadratec’s ’50-for-50’ stewardship grant fund helps project managers pay for equipment, fees, volunteer support, food, fuel, signage and other miscellaneous costs.
Quadratec has been a supporting partner of Tread Lightly! for more than 20 years, and a longtime fundraiser for Tread Lightly!’s stewardship programs. The company has also promoted Tread Lightly! and other trail restoration efforts through its Quadratec Cares ‘Energize the Environment’ program.
Clubs and individuals are required to be active, supporting members of Tread Lightly! to be eligible to apply for ’50-for-50’ grant funding. To learn more about the Quadratec ’50-for-50 program, visit Quadratec's 50 for 50 Trails Stewardship Grant Initiative.
