IPF 968 Series Driving Light Kit Reviews
Haven't wired them yet but look awesome on Warns low grill guard. Even when not lit they are a winner. Winch is next. Thanks Quadratec!
These are just what I needed. I have Hella E code headlights and wanted something to fill in the road area below my headlights when using hi beams, as well as adding some light further down range. The dual beam reflector accomplishes this nicely. The wiring harness was complete and easy to use. I was able to mount these sideways to fit on the tabs on my stinger by rotating the lens/reflector assembly and drilling new holes in the housing. They are a significant help with the installed 55 watt bulbs, and I still have the 100 watt bulbs in reserve!
I ordered these lights to help on my way home from work at night. I was looking for something that wasn’t overly bright but would illuminate the sides of the roads better so I could better see deer and what not. The installation was pretty easy. I followed the directions but about two weeks later they stopped working. I live in the PNW and once the first week of heavy rain came the lights stopped working. I didn’t use anything but what was in the package assuming it would be waterproof enough. I can’t tell if I fried the relay or if the water got into something else. I noticed there was a good bit of water in the connection plugs just past the lights. I cut these off and soldered the connection, and shrink tubed the wiring, but still no luck.
It’s a little bit of a bummer that the relay has to be mounted so specifically. I think this kit is made for more of a desert environment, or not made to their usual standards. I love the way the lights look and how the set up only took a few minutes, but the major issue is a real bummer. It’s not a common relay you can pick up from a local store, and if that goes the lights are rendered to no more than hood ornaments. I Hope that I am able to source a new relay for these lights. If you buy these lights, I would recommend doing what you can to waterproof all exposed/venerable connection so you don’t have the same problem.
