These struts were made for a much heavier lift gate. It took a 200 lb man to close the gate. When some else unknowingly opened the gate, the force nearly broke his arm.

Cheap plastic ends would not stay connected to ball joint. Strut would fly off under tension. Learn from my mistake and get struts with metal socket ends.
