Since 1992, many heavy duty, 4x4 pickups and SUV's have front axles such as those from AAM, and the Dana 50 or 60. These axles have steering knuckles equipped with ball joints.
This design has replaced the older, king-pin style knuckles. The ball joint knuckle has fixed some nagging problems that were typical in the old king-pin axle assemblies such as wheel shimmy, wandering, and certain wear problems. In addition the ball joint style axle costs less to manufacture and assemble at the factory. However, many truck owners still believe the old king-pin set-up was better. Well finally you can have the best of both worlds. Announcing the new Dynatrac ProSteer Ball Joint.

Dynatrac ProSteer Ball Joints Reviews
Best ball joints I've ever put on a vehicle. Stock 2 dr JK ball joints were gone at about 40-45k. These went right in and corrected the wander immediately. Very high quality parts. BEEFY! If you're planning on keeping whatever axle you have for a while these are arguably the best you can get.
2014 JKU Polar Edition, lifted AEV 2.5" w/RCV Performance CVJ30-JK Ultimate 27 Spline CV Axles, ARB Front Lockers at approx 2500 miles. At approx 5000 miles one could easily feel the play in the OEM ball joints. I am not a crazy off-road guy. After research, Dynatrac Ball Joints are bullet proof, and I believe the only way to go. Will not have to replace ball joints again for ages.
