Crown Automotive 52001720K Complete Exhaust Kit for 87-92 Jeep Wrangler YJ with 2.5L 4 Cylinder Engine

It fit perfectly into my 1990 Wrangler with a 2.5L engine. A couple differences though. The pipe between the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter has a hole for the oxygen sensor, however, my car has the sensor on the exhaust manifold. Had to plug that hole. Then, the new catalytic converter is smaller in diameter than the old one, so it doesn't reach the hangar off the transmission mount. It is still stable though.

Sound and fitment is perfect, however my muffler came loose after 2 months, the puny spot welds on the input and output pipes broke.

Exhaust kit is excellent, but I'm marking it down because of the hardware. I knew the hardware would be an issue because the only review on this item prior to this one I'm writing today says there's an issue with the hardware. That was more than a year ago...plenty of time to fix the hardware in these kits.

So, just like the previous review, my kit came with a 4 bolt flange style connection going in to the cat. No bolts included in the kit. Mine did come with 2 exhaust clamps, but one of them was completely the wrong size. They're clearly marked, so to me that's a statement about the care-factor of whoever put them in the bag.

I also had to trim about 2" off the back of the car to make mine fit.

Also, stock YJs require mufflers with an offset inlet and a centered outlet. This kit came with a muffler which is the opposite. All the reading I've done says mufflers which are marked for an inlet and/or an outlet shouldn't be reversed. Maybe this muffler could be alright to reverse...but a consumer wouldn't know because there are no instructions with this product.

I bought all the right hardware and easily installed the kit. It works great and is much quieter than the old fart can my YJ had when I bought it. But if you want good reviews, pay attention to detail.
