Sprintex Intercoolered Supercharger Kit Reviews
So this is going to be a long review and I’d like to start off with saying that I do like this supercharger. I’m going to answer some questions that I had before purchasing and give my recommendations based on my experience. This is a lengthy install but the only difficulties are getting in the tight places when bolting down the blower...I mean really tight places! You will need someone with tiny hands. Follow the instructions on Sprintex website, not the video on here because some steps are left out. Before you even purchase this or any supercharger kit, you need to research who can do custom tuning for you. IT WILL NEED TO BE CUSTOM TUNED!!! When I finished the install, it took 5 days for Sprintex and Diablo to get the tuner to work and a tune just to be able to drive it around. Sprintex and Diablo were back and forth on who’s fought it was and the Sprintex guy even said it was my Jeep that was the problem. Then after I called him out on it, he said now they has another Jeep with the same issues and someone in Indonesia or somewhere could write a custom tune for it. After a month I found a guy in south ga that can custom tune. After that, it was amazing. On the dyno mine pulled 282 RWHP with 37” tires and 4:56 gears. I told the tuning guy that I wanted to play it safe or he probably could’ve gotten more HP out of it. I wanted more drive ability. If you have concerns about the loudness of the blower when driving, it’s not bad at all. When driving down the road with the radio on, you can’t hear it unless you get on it. I bought the stage one kit because mine was an older Jeep with 140,000 miles on the engine. If you have a new or newer Jeep, I would recommend spending the extra money on the stage 2. Again, I recommend finding someone who can custom tune before even purchasing this or any kit. When reading other reviews along with my experience, this was the biggest issues. Expect your fuel mileage to drop also. Again, since I had it custom tuned, I’ve been very happy with the power I have and the increased drive ability.
I must start saying that I run a software company in the physical security space, just to qualify that I understand software and software troubleshooting. I bought a Sprintex for my 2016 Jeep JK through an authorized Sprintex reseller and had it professionally installed. Immediately the supercharger started giving me an engine error saying "multiple cylinder misfire". I then took it back and the Sprintex dealer that started going through the Sprintex technical Support. Sprintex started sending new software called "Tune" to load on the car CPU. Every time the software would fix a problem and create another. The technical director and the CEO, Tyrone Jones, went on a call with my dealer and assured that everything would be fixed with the next TUNE. After we received the miraculous new tune the system return another check engine light. My Jeep has been in the shop for about 4 weeks with them going back and forth on the Sprintex Supercharger. Stay away as their technical support and software department is very incompetent when encountering a problem. All they do is a trial error attempt and the real technical support is in Australia, so you will be receiving an email per day if you are lucky. Terrible experience...........
