Corbeau 2-Inch Retractable Harness Belts Reviews
A bit much for crusing and slow poking around off road... Eh, overkill is better than under kill. Lol
Proven and I bought a second set. A year ago my son and his girlfriend where traveling a state 4 lane highway in the country in his 79 CJ7. As they approached a crossroad a 1/2 ton pickup approached the intersection. Uncertain of the pickup motions he lifted. Pickup came to a stop. My son then rolled back into gas. As he recalls reaching highway speed (55) the pickup pulled out in front of him. He slammed the brakes, swerved right. Impacted the pickup just behind the drivers door. Spun 270 ending up in the grass. He and his girlfriend walked away. Insurance company totaled the Jeep. I was allowed to keep it. New front sheet metal, radiator, front suspension, motor mounts, new Throttle Down frame and it's back on the road thoroughly being enjoyed by my son and his girlfriend again. These seatbelts did their job. The recoil system was trashed of course. Thought I will never reuse seat belts after they have seen an impact. The recoil assembly was actually attached to the rear tub about a foot from the tail gate so to get the shallowest angle to the seat over-shoulder guides.
Great idea-horrific execution. This sounds like the best of both worlds, unfortunately Corbeau dropped the ball. If you have a Jeep you will lose the back seat. Corbeau doesn't recommend mounting the rear anchor point to the rear wheel well as the angle needs to be straight back for the retractor to work properly. I inquired if a harness bar would work with mounting on the floor and that too was not recommended.
If you have a Jeep, this harness is not recommended.
