Rugged Ridge Performance Header in 409 Stainless Steel Reviews
installed about 500 miles ago. Love them.
These headers give off HEAT! There should be a suggestion to wrap them prior to install. I had one bolt go in hard so starting all bolts by hand is a must. Because of the heat and several burnt plugs I had to install two separate layers of heat resistant material to the spark plug boots. I can also see spark jumping from the boots now and I believe it’s because of heat breakdown. Other than that a captured set of bolts for the pipe installation would make these perfect.
Had these installed about 12 months ago - only low km's as not my daily drive. I had to fabricate a heat guard for the LH side as original wouldn't refit. RH side then started leaking & one pipe cracked all the way through. Welded back up but feel like this is not the last I hear about these units. Thought I was paying for something pretty good.
