JKS Manufacturing Coil Spring Retainers Reviews
The JKS adjustable rear coil spring mounts and pre drilled and threaded for these so install was a breeze. Piece of mind my doings won’t come unseated.
These are hi quality rear lower coil retainers. I bought them for my rear JKS Manufacturing 2400 Rear Adjustable Coil Spring Mounts for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK. I assumed they were compatible but they are not. I ended up using the on an industrial machine application and they worked great for that. I could of used them if I wanted to remove 2400 rear brackets and tap for mounting but didn’t fill like doing all that for a retainer.
I wish I could give the JKS coil retainers 5 stars; it was so close. Let me start by saying the construction if the actual product is fantastic and the design is simply better than competing rear coil retainers on the market. In particular, the way the bolt is recessed and sits flush with the retainer means no potential snagging of debris. The retainer itself covers much more of the coil than other retainers on the market. In other words, the product itself is top quality
The reason I omitted the 5th start is due to the installation process. Other coil retainers come with an angled wrench or capture tool to hold the nut in place while installing the retainer. That's because all JK rear coil retainer products have to be secured from beneath the coil sprint perch, and the opening between the axle and perch is quite small. Unfortunately JKS doesn't provide any kind of tool to hold the nut and washer in place. The only way to get the top and bottom aligned and threaded is to tape the washer and nut to a 5/8 wrench at an angle (about 45 degrees off of parallel) and insert it hoping everything stays in place. As it is, it took me over a half hour to install the first one and another 15 minutes on the other side. For other products this would be a 5 minute installation
If JKS would use a flanged nut and a tool to hold it in place, which should be remarkably cheap to manufacture, the kit would be a solid 5 star. However the product itself is solid.
