Bilstein Rear B8 5100 Series Gas Shock Absorber Reviews
WORST shock I have ever bought. went thru 5 in a 2 year span. Seems they keep blowing out the main seal on the shaft. mainly the rear shocks. I don't know if they are compressing too much or over flexing when rock or rain rut climbing. After the first rear two went, climbing rock and rain ruts, in an off road park, rears were shot, leaking oil all ever.
YES I did do all the correct measurements for the shocks, matching my lift and tires, then had a very reputable jeep shop confirm the right sizes, I bought 2 more. So then I bought limiting straps for all four corners also , just to be on the safe side, since they are not cheap.
After a couple more rides, again rain rut climbing lost a front and a back. So now I am pissed as the company Bilstein nor Qtec would warranty them in anyway, even just to have them rebuilt, on my dime, as they were not bend or bad in any other way.
SAVE your money and get the remote resivoir, with any good shock you plan on using on your jeep that you already spent thousands on to have built right and to not have these problems..As for the you pavement pounders, they do ride nice for highway use.
BIG thumbs down on OFF ROAD use!!!!
