Skyjacker TCL103 Transfer Case Lowering Kit for 03-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited with 2-2.5" Suspension Lift

2003 TJ: Went with Skyjacker a) because of the trusted name and b) several of the other companies fail to mention anything about the trans case shift linkage connection. In my initial selection process, one of those companies (wont mention the name) said "Oh, you don't have to worry, no adjustments are needed". Glad I chose Skyjackers product as the linkage lowering plate was definitely needed.
This was an easy install but you will need an additional set of hand to help out with the linkage bolts which are inside the cab next to the drivers right ankle under the carpet.
The only issue I had was the shifter. Due to the increased angle, getting into 2nd, 4th and reverse were impossible. Thought about cutting the boot and console but sat back for a moment with a refreshing beverage. Took the shifter off and tried to bend it to no avail. Extremely hard metal. Finally ended up putting the shaft in a vice between 3 staggered bolts. Heated with torch and made the bend. Gave it a little paint, reinstalled and everything was hunky dory. Boot and console intact with factory appearance.

2005 TJ. The "drop" portion of this kit works just fine. The hardware seems high quality. The shift linkage relocation bracket simply does not work. Due to the way this drops the pivot point the linkage contacts the mounting bolts holding the new plate to the stock mount. This makes it impossible to shift into 4 low. I do not see a way around this with this kit. Now I need to order another relocation bracket to finish the job.
