Rugged Ridge All-Terrain 4.75" Fender Flare Kit Reviews
Did not fit my 79 CJ 5 at all
I should have known when these flares arrived marked for "CJ and YJ" that they weren't going to do the job. The YJ is 7/8 the size of a CJ. Anything designed to fit either model is probably not going to give you a superior look. These things don't even look good on the Jeep pictured in the instructions. "Some drilling required", the ad says. "All driling required" is accurate. Other than the holes for the side marker lights, every mounting hole has to be pre-drilled, and the new front flares hang down about 5 inches below the body. when installed. Looks like a really ugly mud flap. The whole effect reminds me of a little boy wearing his dad's shoes; they might keep his feet dry, but it looks like hell. Additionally, if you ever want to go back to the factory-sized tires, wheels, and flares, you've got a buttload of holes to fill and paint. My advice: find flares made to fit a CJ using the original mounting holes, or stay with the factory flares and put up with the spray and splatter.
