Bushwacker 4 3/4" Pocket Style Fender Flares Reviews
Great look to match a time period restoration!
Ok, so out of everything I've done to my 2005 TJ this month, this project was Easily The hardest of The Bunch...the OE faded and marbled fenders needed to be replaced badly. The screws were rusted to the point that in the spots where the rivets sit, I had to go buy a rivet tool to reset them after grinding out the screws that just spun the whole rivet with each crank. That was a scavenger hunt in itself.
Once I finally got the OE's off and put in the new rivets, got to the next challenge: filing down the signal light slots to fit... then my friends, the rubber trim is going to laugh at you the WHOLE TIME you inch it onto the new flares, fall off, and start laughing all over again. When I finally got to the point of securing the fenders to my Jeep, the majority (yep) of the holes lined up. I ended up buying some Xmas tree plugs to seal the few holes with a finished look. Just clip off the excess sticking out under the flare. Again, I LOVE THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!...the process getting there, NO. But like anything worth having, you gotta put in the work.
