Rugged Ridge Light Bar Reviews
Very quick, easy installation. The installation was actually a LOT easier the many of the reviews will have you believe. Watch the YouTube videos first. The best advice I can give is to completely ignore the bit where it says balance the nut on the supplied Allen wrench and dangle it down from the top! Just don't! Tape it to a long wrench and feed it up from the bottom. Do the top one first on each side. I can confirm there is absolutely no drilling needed at all. It was a perfect fit for my 2014 Wrangler Sport. I did just loosen the plastic horizontal strip, under the grill, then tightened it up again after fitting, but I probably didn't need to. I did not need to jack the car up or anything - it was a very quick, easy upgrade, and it looks great
Bought this back in 2013 for my 2012 Rubicon 2 door. Great looking light bar for the stock JK bumper. The only problem is the bracket design cannot hold this bar steady, particularly with the weight of three lights. Any irregularities in the road/dirt will cause the bar to vibrate like mad. I mounted three PIAA lights to mine and was constantly replacing bulbs because the vibrations just killed the filaments. I all but stopped using my lights because I got sick of replacing bulbs. Here we are ten years later and Mopar has copied the design almost exactly. It is time to remove mine since the bar is about rusted out at the bottom near the bracket connecting points. I will be replacing it with a light bar that mounts closer to the bumper so there isn't so much of a lever for the weight of the lights to bounce back and forth on. If I could go back in time, I would not have purchased this bar. I would have spent the extra money up front and gone with an LED bar and mount.
