Sturdy once installed (took 90 minutes as there is some loosening of bolts and realigning and retightening to get it to sit straight - which it does do - plus I chose to modify and refit the spare tyre rubber bumpers - which the instructions say to remove and discard - without them the tyre would rub against the rack brackets!!!)
Also, with my TrekTopNX I was able to install the rack support arms BACKWARDS so the rack now sits close to (but not touching) the rear window - and this looks a much more professional installation than having the rack stuck way out the back over the tyre.
Rearwards visibility with the rack unloaded IS hampered but not completely obscured - the slots in the moulded rack allow you to see through.
Finally, a black bungee cargo net about 1.5x1m works well for light loads but I carry a ratchet strapas well to ensure everything I've loaded DOES arrive at the destination. I leave the net installed fulltime.
If you time to time need small rack with easy installation it is exactly this rack!
I use it for everything when I need additional place or do not want to feel the smell of something inside car (petrol, fish and etc.). Boards, skis, tents... everything I want.
Few minuses: cargo weight limit and rusting metal parts
